But I'd not thought of actually pitching
'WDYW" as a 'women's novel'. I'll think of doing so if there's a real identified need for them. I usually pitch it as a mainstream/literary novel.

Thanks for all the useful info in your blog.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23051453.post-83565079892465583442007-06-21T12:34:00.000-04:002007-06-21T12:34:00.000-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23051453.post-3526871867674942462007-06-21T10:29:00.000-04:002007-06-21T10:29:00.000-04:00I love your blog! I was so happy to see the editor's interest in popular science books, because I recently sent a popular science proposal to Kim.Emiliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04354214908904801347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23051453.post-31618332276908072162007-06-21T09:38:00.000-04:002007-06-21T09:38:00.000-04:00Any news about YA?Any news about YA?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23051453.post-25875298761721194312007-06-21T08:29:00.000-04:002007-06-21T08:29:00.000-04:00This is probably not the forum for this question, ...This is probably not the forum for this question, but do have a need for nonfiction writers with medical and science backgrounds to ghost and/or collaborate for health and/or science books?Mark Terryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09410424046477699059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23051453.post-30336445086430126152007-06-21T05:08:00.000-04:002007-06-21T05:08:00.000-04:00I wonder how long each editor lasts with each spec...I wonder how long each editor lasts with each specialization. That would have to be like eating your favorite meal everyday. After a while, you'd need a change.

That's good news they're looking for new mysteries. Quick question, it never seems that I can fit my first novel into a single category, so I fall back on the old "commercial fiction" label. Should I try and explain ("a Southern comedy mystery") or compare ("in the vein of 'It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World' unfolding in the landscape of Wal-Marts, redneck bars, and trailer parks"), or just let the general label stand on its own?

It does make it hard to find the right prospects for representation.Reidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07055399941337038633noreply@blogger.com
